  1. I love how you've blended your colors in these last four pictures. I don't really understand your choice of background conceptually, but it works well visually to tie the image together.

    1. Morning to night is a fairly often used metaphor for life. Life begins in the morning and you die at night. Since my piece is about the entire human life cycle, I chose this as my background.

  2. The use of metaphor in your piece is well done. They all look good, but my favorite is the one at the bottom. I like being able to see the sky through the flowers. (even if it's only a little)

  3. Its a tough choice but my vote is for the third image. The red flowers are distracting in the first two and feel off balance, the colors in the third are less aggressive which makes it feel more complete.

  4. I agree, I think you should also go with the third image. However, I still feel like as a whole, it seems unresolved. Maybe consider adding something to it that doesn't make it seem so flat.

  5. I agree with Cat, my favorite is the last variation. I think the arrangement of the flowers and the colors in them is working best with the background you chose.

  6. Your textures of transparent flowers in the sky remind me of clouds and I have to look closer to recognize them, which I find interesting. Maybe you could play around with the transparency of the flowers in the center some ... maybe fade them into the landscape more. The color contrasts and shaping of the image work well.

  7. My favorite is the first one. For some reason I am drawn to the oval shape of the flowers because it stretches from the left side to the right better compositionally. I love the use of day-night in the background and it reminds me of a desert even? I'm not sure why. If you haven't looked up Maggie Taylor - she is wonderful and the fullness and bright colors of your flowers remind me of her work. Good job! This is beautiful.

  9. I really like the simplicity of your composition, and the way you combined the flowers. I'm actually drawn to the 3rd one. I think because the red flowers were not working on previous images. The 2 flowers on the top right seem like they should be a lot lighter.

  12. Not much to add to what we talked about in class. Love the image. Love the addition of the very subtle type. Think of the type as the color red, and try to balance it compositionally if you can. Nice job great work.

  13. I think I like the last two the best. I like the shape of the middle one but I also feel feel like the colors in the last one are working well.. without the bright pink color. I don't dislike the pink in the second, though. It's hard to say. However, the image as a whole is quite beautiful. The colors are really working, and I like that you toned down the background in the sunrise. It's very fluid and balanced. Great job.
